Oklahoma Summit

The 54th annual conference will be held August 1-3 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. It will feature professional development opportunities along with recognition of Oklahoma CareerTech System employees. (Conference at-a-glance)

This year’s keynote speaker will be retired Navy Cmdr. John Herrington, who flew on the space shuttle Endeavour. In 2002, Commander Herrington flew on the Space Shuttle Endeavour STS-113, the 112th Shuttle mission, as the 143rd person to walk in space and the first Native American in history. OEIP plans summer sessions

Oklahoma Education & Industry Partnership offers an outstanding professional development opportunity for Oklahoma educators each summer.

What is OEIP?  These events are the ultimate teacher/industry connections!  The mission is to create a pipeline for partnerships among educators, counselors, administrators, partners, students, industry leaders, government policy makers and members of the economic development community. See video here

CareerTech’s Oklahoma Education and Industry Partnerships has planned five sessions this summer covering the film industry, construction trades, manufacturing and health, aerospace and automotive industries.

Sessions will be June 10 at Green Pasture Studios in Spencer, June 16 on Zoom, July 15 at MidAmerica Industrial Park and Northeast Technology Center, July 20-22 at Metro Technology Centers and July 26 at Oklahoma City Community College.

The 53rd Annual Oklahoma Summit will be held virtually this year.

Online Registration

All participants are strongly advised to register in advance to provide a quicker, more efficient log-in experience. Beginning July 8, online registration requires you to fill out your personal information for the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education to enter into its new data storage system. After you complete your information for ODCTE, you will continue on to the OkACTE website to verify your personal information with OkACTE. From there, you will proceed with registration and membership options. The online registration/membership is located on a secured site. When registering, please be sure to print your paid receipt. This will help facilitate your log-in process.

The CareerTech Master Educator Program

The CareerTech Master Educator program offers 7,800 FREE courses. This unique personal learning opportunity allows teachers to tailor their own professional development through a multi level professional development system giving CareerTech teachers the opportunity to earn credit toward credentials while learning valuable skills. CareerTech’s Master Educator program is designed to inspire continuous learning through a variety of learning experiences while also giving individuals the opportunity to track and manage their personal professional development goals.

Online Professional Development Available for Educators

careertech master educatorOklahoma CareerTech is excited to introduce professional development that fits educators’ schedules and needs.

CareerTech’s Master Educator is an online professional development management system designed to inspire continuous learning through a variety of online courses while also giving individuals the opportunity to track and manage their personal professional development. Course topics range from instructional strategies and classroom management to coaching skills and avoiding burnout. We also have more than 7,000 courses from LinkedIn Learning.

Educators can earn professional development hours that may assist with certification and enhance their professional abilities.
